{"id":505,"date":"2017-01-16T22:25:50","date_gmt":"2017-01-16T22:25:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.abbeyviews.com\/wordpress\/?p=505"},"modified":"2017-01-16T22:25:50","modified_gmt":"2017-01-16T22:25:50","slug":"have-your-say-on-the-gloucester-city-plan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.abbeyviews.com\/wordpress\/?p=505","title":{"rendered":"Have your say on the Gloucester City Plan"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #808080;\"><strong>On January 16<sup>th<\/sup> 2017 Gloucester City Council is launching a public conversation on its \u2018city plan\u2019. <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #808080;\">The city council is asking members of the public to have their say on what areas in the city have potential for development, what the developments should be for and what criteria they would need to meet.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #808080;\">The draft \u2018Gloucester City Plan\u2019 delivers the Joint Core Strategy at a local level and sets out draft policies that reflect local issues and opportunities in the city.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #808080;\">The plan looks at areas in the Gloucester that would be appropriate for development and growth to ensure that the council grows the city.\u00a0 A possible 23 sites across Gloucester that would be suitable for development are outlined in the plan.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #808080;\">A further 70 policies that protect the environment and make sure that new developments help our communities and support what they want.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #808080;\">The council is asking its partners, businesses and local residents what they think of the possible sites and policies in the plan and if there are any others that could be considered.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #808080;\">The consultation is six weeks long, ending on 27<sup>th<\/sup> February 2017. An online version is available on the city council website <a style=\"color: #808080;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.gloucester.gov.uk\/cityplan\">www.gloucester.gov.uk\/cityplan<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #808080;\">Hard copies can be collected from council buildings and local libraries and five public events are being held.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #808080;\">Cllr Colin Organ, cabinet member for housing and planning, said: \u201cIt\u2019s really important that we hear from as many people as possible on this consultation.
