{"id":321,"date":"2015-05-14T20:59:56","date_gmt":"2015-05-14T19:59:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.abbeyviews.com\/wordpress\/?p=321"},"modified":"2015-05-26T20:32:04","modified_gmt":"2015-05-26T19:32:04","slug":"ridge-and-furrow-update","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.abbeyviews.com\/wordpress\/?p=321","title":{"rendered":"Ridge and Furrow Update"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #808080;\">Planning committee this\u00a0evening decided that it would be minded to\u00a0 reject the application to demolish the ridge and furrow and replace it with a petrol filling station.\u00a0 The committee will not take the decision as the Applicant has appealed on non-determination after specifically begging the council not to determine it last month.\u00a0 So Councillors at Gloucester city unanimously voted in favour of mindful to refuse on three grounds.\u00a0 Two around the above ground fuel tanks being unsightly and potentially hazardous \/ vulnerable to being crashed into.\u00a0 The Last reason was based around the loss of\u00a0 a community asset.\u00a0 The pub was listed as a community asset and therefore affords some protection under planning policies.\u00a0 Councillor Gordon Taylor chair of planning said \u201cI\u2019m pleased that the whole committee backed this decision it show how much we in Gloucester value our community assets\u201d.\u00a0 New Councillor Laura Pearsall Said \u201cI&#8217;m glad the planning committee are minded to reject this application, as I know most Abbey residents will also be. I do hope when this reaches the Inspector for the final decision to be made, that they take the Council&#8217;s points on board, a long with the residents&#8217; views.\u201d Cllr Andrew Gravells spoke at committee against the application at committie and Says &#8220;Most people in Abbeydale want to see a Community pub retained on this site, where they can meet their friends and family.
