ABBEYDALE POST OFFICE TO CLOSE- WE WILL FIGHT TO STOP THIS.
We were very angry when we heard on June 25th 2004 that Morrisons- the new owners of Safeways- intend to close the Post Office in Abbeydale.
We only heard this news in a roundabout way- and it was quite a snub to the local community here that the company didn't have the decency to tell us themselves of their plans.
We have written to the Company's Chairman Sir Ken Morrison asking him to halt these plans, and we have written to Royal Mail too.
We will be out collecting names for a massive petition which we'll be handing in later.
Please try and collect some signatures using the form below-and we'll forward them on to the company, with our main petition.
We will keep you posted on our campaign.
If you'd like to help our Action Group to fight these closure plans please get in touch with one of us today.
