 Gloucester City Council Services Update 

Essential services are being maintained at Gloucester City Council - but there is some disruption. Refuse and recycling collections have been suspended today due to the adverse weather conditions.

Residents who were due for a collection today will be able to put out two extra bags of refuse next week.

Normal collections will be restored as soon as weather conditions allow.  The situation will be monitored daily and residents will be kept informed.

The council’s docks offices are working normally.

  • The contact centre on 01452 396396 is staffed and should be the first point of contact for anyone with a query about city council services.
  • The homelessness team is available to deal with personal callers.
  • The benefits team are working but advise against making personal trips in the current weather conditions. A benefit application form is available online, Click here.
  • The tennis centre is shut.
  • GL1 leisure centre is open - but will be closing early at 3pm.
  • Gloucester City Homes offices at Southgate House are open. They advise that they are only able to handle calls for emergency repairs. Local estate offices are clearing and gritting high risk areas such as sheltered housing schemes.
