8/3/08 Final Surface to go down on Lobleys Drive bridge

The final road surface is being put down  on Lobleys Drive, between the motorway bridge and Gloucester Business Park, and this  will mark the completion of the road surfacing works.

The  work will be carried out during the week beginning 17th March, on weekdays only. The road will be closed during off-peak times only – between 9.30am and 4.00pm - to minimise disruption to bus services and commuters.

Lobleys Drive will be closed from the motorway bridge to Hurricane Way (with Coopers Edge residents able to get access to their properties only from Hurricane Way) and local diversion routes will be in place and advertised clearly.

The surfacing marks the last stage in road works on the development before work on new bus priority lanes begin later in the year.

Councillor Andrew Gravells says  ' We have been pressing the county council to get the developers to complete the surfacing work here  for some time now, so I am really pleased that this work will done soon, and it's about time too!'
