Seven local organisations could be in line for a share of £130,000 worth of grants.
The cash is available to groups in the Abbeymead and Abbeydale areas of the city.
Six small grants in the region of £5000 each ,and one large grant in the region of £100,000 are available but local organisations will have to be able to show that they meet strict guidelines.
The money has come from recent housing developments in the areas and must be used to help provide community facilities.
Local Councillors, Bob Gardiner and Andrew Gravells said:
' We have both served on the Planning Committee. These Grants came about after Councillors and Planners asked Developers in this area to put something back into our area.
These Grants could help local Groups here in a big way'
To be considered schemes must benefit children, young people or the elderly in the two areas.
Application forms and further information are available from Mark Radford, City Council Community Strategy and Regeneration Officer on 01452 396986 or email mark.radford@gloucester.gov.uk
